Upon seeing her psychiatrist, Ayla is asked to recollect a recent experience that has left her unsettled. As she takes the trip down her memory lane, Ayla’s suppressed unconsciousness awakens.
‘Anamnesis’ is my directing debut. It earned two Laurels and was selected as a finalist at the Prague International Film Festival 2021.
This project was made entirely in lockdown, having very little access to resources – be it money, locations and people. It was shot on an iPhone 12ProMax, and edited in After Effects and Premiere Pro.
Despite the drawbacks however, I genuinely loved bringing this to life. I had the pleasure of working with my project supervisor, Akhila Krishnan, who was incredibly supportive and pushed me to the max in the best of ways. A big thank you also goes to my amazing sound designer and composer, Will Sullivan. He went above and beyond, and helped create the perfect atmosphere for what Anamnesis needed.
This project will alway mean a great deal to me as it was filmed in my hometown, Prague, and a few close family members and friends were also involved in this production. Thank you to you all!
