Premiere: Theater Carre, Amsterdam, Netherlands / Tour: 2023-2024
Set in 19th-century France, Les Misérables tells the story of Jean Valjean, a peasant seeking redemption after being imprisoned for 19 years. He is inspired by a bishop’s act of mercy, breaks his parole, and starts anew in disguise. Valjean becomes wealthy, adopts an orphan named Cosette, while the relentless inspector Javert pursues him. Their lives intertwine during a revolutionary period as young idealists attempt to overthrow the government in Paris.
This was my first time working on Les Misérables. Alongside of getting to know the production, its creatives and technical staff, the main objective was to make the video content look and feel like the 2019 adaptation of the same production.
