LES MISÉRABLES|SOUTH KOREA

Premiere: The Dream Theatre Busan, South Korea / Tour: 2023-2024

Set in 19th-century France, Les Misérables tells the story of Jean Valjean, a peasant seeking redemption after being imprisoned for 19 years. He is inspired by a bishop’s act of mercy, breaks his parole, and starts anew in disguise. Valjean becomes wealthy, adopts an orphan named Cosette, while the relentless inspector Javert pursues him. Their lives intertwine during a revolutionary period as young idealists attempt to overthrow the government in Paris.

This was my second time working on Les Misérables. Just like with the previous Dutch Tour, we were tasked to transfer the production to South Korea and prepare it for its tour around the country. As always, the long running production is held to a high standard, ensuring all aspects run smothly and look and feel like its 2019 adaptation.
