STONING MARY

RADA / 2019

debbie tucker green’s stoning mary is a play that explores everyday reality in an unstable, war-torn country, and asks what it would be like if these things were happening here. A husband and wife row about a prescription. A mother and father row about their son, who has become a child soldier. Two sisters row about which one is superior to the other. It emerges that the younger sister, Mary, has killed the child soldier and is to be stoned to death.

‘stoning mary’ was my very first production that involved working with video. My role as an assistant video designer was to create bespoke content which we made on site and filmed. This not only involved directing actors against a green screen, but also playing with lots of water and red dye.
